isn't it false advertising to put america in the name of your company, when you outsource. i mean the word "america" or "american" and the colors red white and blue are advertising at the patriotic people that think that by buying something or a service it is helping their country. old people especially try to always buy american. there should be laws about this to protect our patriotism.

Considering that AOL sells online services to Americans, that would be why it is called America On-Line…not Europeans On-Line. nothing false in their name, they are doing exactly what their name implies, getting America on the Internet.
America Online doesn't mean that the Employees are american. it means that he customers are american. They are Getting America Online. That is all.
Because you're calling an inernational call center. It's cheaper for companies to ship our jobs overseas and pay workers there next to nothing, then bring jobs to the US and pay Americans a decent salary. Sad but true.

I was told you have the right to demand to speak to somebody who is within the u s a when you call but I'm uncertain about that. I've been in the same situation, Delta Airlines reservations is often answered in India, and they can talk but they really don't understand what I have to say. the agents didn't understand me at all. it was most frustrating.
Another one is Bell Telephone. They have just built a huge complex in Heredia, Costa Rica, just outside of San Jose' the capitol and all the calls to Bell Telephone are being routed there. They just had an earth quake not long ago centered in Poas and that area, I hope the Bell Telephone building went down totally myself.
I for one agree with the Asker on this one. I don't buy anything not USA made if I know it .
